The monthly analytics report

What we send every month: the share-of-model trend, the per-engine breakdown, your appearance and citation rates, and where the citations come from. Methodology is real and single-sourced: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Grok, adaptive per-engine sampling, metric-matched 95% CI (presence Wilson / share bootstrap). Client figures below are illustrative.

Illustrative sample — Forgeline CI is a fictional sample client. The figures are representative, not measured from a real engagement.

Share-of-model trend

Share-of-model trend, an illustrative projection
Projection, not a promise — a modelled range. We report the measured value each month.  ·  measured   illustrative

Per-engine breakdown

Per-engine share of model, illustrative
Engines disagree — the report shows where you're strong and where you're absent.  ·  illustrative

Appearance & citation rate

Appearance and citation rate, illustrative
How to read: each bar is one item; a longer bar is a higher value. Takeaway: where you sit versus the field.  ·  illustrative

Citation sources

Citation sources: owned, earned, community — illustrative
Most AI citations are third-party — the report tracks all three so you know where to earn them.  ·  illustrative

Google AI surfaces — measured separately (floor, not a ceiling)

We report Google AI Overviews as its own surface, never blended into a cross-engine score — it only fires on some searches, and a click lands in your analytics as ordinary organic traffic, so we treat measured AI referral as a floor, not a ceiling.

Google AI surfaces (reported separately, never summed): 1 appearance(s) of your pieces in AIO/AI-Mode answers.

Brand mentions without a citation: 3 (named in answers without your URL in the sources — a different, weaker signal than a citation).

AI-referred traffic: 214 visitors vs 1180 from classic search — in this illustrative sample, AI-referred visitors converted at a higher rate than classic search (referrer/user-agent heuristic — a floor, not a census).

Refresh wins (citation reclaimed): 1 piece(s) regained a citation after a substantive refresh — forgeline-ci-vs-github-actions.

Attribution limits, plainly: AI-citation attribution is a heuristic floor, not a census — we match each new citation to the piece that most plausibly earned it, and say so.
